You can have curtains with bifold doors but you must consider how they hang and when they will be used.
1. Where will they sit when the bifold doors are open? You will need wall space on both sides of the door so that when open, the curtains do not obstruct the view.
2. If your curtains do hang over the doors, try not to have the master door behind the curtain as the curtain will soon be ruined.
3. Consider the space above the doors. If you are planning an extension or new build, you may be able to allow for a discrete ceiling track. Otherwise, you will need to allow for a pole.
4. Alternative choices are blinds that either fit to the frame or are manufactured with the doors, inside the glass. This allows you to shade the individual doors without closing the curtains during the day. You could then use mock curtains for decoration.
